What this site can and cannot tell you, stated plainly.

Not affiliated with any game

Word Puzzle Kit is an independent site. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to the makers of any game named on it.

Those names are used descriptively — to say which game a tool helps with — and each belongs to its owner:

The games on our games page are ours. They use widely played formats, but their puzzles, grids and clues are generated here from public-domain word data.

A word here is not a legal play there

This is the limitation that matters most in practice.

Every solver on this site searches ENABLE, a public-domain lexicon of 172,749 words. Scrabble, Words With Friends, Wordfeud, Wordscapes and the rest each license their own dictionary, and those lists differ from ENABLE and from each other — mostly around two-letter words, recent additions, dialect spellings and slang.

So a match here means this is an English word. It does not mean this will be accepted. For anything that decides a game, check the word list of the game you are playing.

Scores exclude board multipliers

The number beside a scored word is the face value of its tiles. Double-letter and triple-word squares depend on where you place the word, which this site cannot see, so they are not included. Your actual score will usually be higher — sometimes much higher.

Generated puzzles are machine-made

The mini crossword grids are filled by an algorithm, and their clues are definitions from a dictionary published in 1913. That produces valid puzzles with occasionally odd phrasing and the occasional archaic sense of a word. They are not the work of a human setter and do not pretend to be.

Word searches, scrambles and worksheets are generated from your own list. Check a printed sheet before handing out twenty-five copies — placement can fail, and the tool tells you when it has, but only if you read the warning.

The syllable counter is an approximation

It applies English vowel-group rules with the standard exceptions, which handles ordinary vocabulary well. Loanwords, proper nouns and words whose pronunciation varies by accent can be off by one. If a count matters, say the word aloud.

Hints pages

Where this site publishes hints for a puzzle it did not make, those hints are written by an editor, not extracted from the puzzle. Nothing here reproduces another publisher's solutions on a schedule, which is why some days have no page. Each hints page names the puzzle's publisher and links to the original.

No professional advice

This is a word-game site. Nothing on it is legal, educational, medical or professional advice of any kind.
