About Wordle

Six tries to find a five-letter word. Green means the letter is in the right place, yellow means it is in the word but somewhere else, grey means it is not there at all. Everyone gets the same word on the same day, which is why spoilers travel so fast and why a hints page is worth more than an answers page.

How these hints work

Every hint is behind a click, and they run from vaguest to most specific. That ordering is the whole design: a page that opens with the answer is not a hints page, it is a spoiler with extra steps. Open one at a time and stop as soon as you can see the way in.

Where an answer is published at all, it sits behind a second, separate disclosure at the bottom, so you cannot trip over it while reading a hint.
