What you type stays on your device

Every tool on this site runs entirely in your browser. Letters entered into a solver, text pasted into a counter, word lists fed to a worksheet generator, guesses played in a game — none of it is transmitted to us or to anyone else, and none of it is stored on a server. There is no server-side processing of your input at all.

You can verify this rather than take it on trust: open your browser's developer tools, go to the network panel, and use any tool on the site. The only requests are for the page itself and for the static word-list files.

What is stored in your browser

Some features remember things locally, using your browser's own storage. This data never leaves your device and we cannot read it:

• Theme choice — whether you selected light or dark.
• Game progress and statistics — your current board, streak and best score for each game.
• Crossword progress — the letters you have filled in today.

Clearing your browser's site data removes all of it, and nothing important breaks if you do.

Analytics

This site uses Google Analytics to understand which pages are used and how people arrive. It records things like the page visited, the referring site, approximate location derived from your IP address, and general device and browser information. IP anonymisation is enabled, so your full address is not stored by the service.

Analytics never sees what you type into a tool — the events are about pages, not inputs. Google is an independent controller of the data it collects; their handling of it is governed by Google's privacy policy .

To opt out, use your browser's tracking protection, an ad blocker, or Google's opt-out browser add-on . The site works normally either way.

Advertising

No advertising is currently served. If that changes, this page will be updated before any ad code is deployed, and the cookie page will say what the ad provider sets.

What is not collected

• No account, so no name, email address or password.
• No record of what you searched for or which words you looked up.
• No payment information — nothing here is sold.
• No data is sold or shared with data brokers.
• Nothing is knowingly collected from children.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or object to the processing of personal data about you. In practice there is very little here to exercise them against: we hold no account, no identifiers of our own, and no record of your use of the tools.

For data held by the third parties named above, those companies are the controllers and their own policies and opt-outs apply. For anything else, write to [email protected].

Changes

Material changes will be reflected here with a new date at the foot of the page. If a change adds a new third party or a new category of data, it will be described explicitly rather than folded into general wording.
