Why a shared daily puzzle is different

An unlimited game is a solitary one: your third attempt is nobody else's. A daily puzzle everyone shares turns the same six guesses into something comparable — the reason people post their grids at all is that the person reading knows exactly how hard that word was.

That is the whole design here. One word per calendar day, derived from the date so no server has to hand it out, and a share format that carries the shape of your solve without the answer in it.

Playing it well

With only one attempt a day, the value of a good opener goes up. Five distinct common letters, no repeats: CRANE, SLATE, AROSE, RAISE. Guess two should generally test five more letters rather than chase the greens you just found — with six turns and no second chance, information early is worth more than a lucky finish.

The other habit worth building is reading the amber tiles properly. An amber says the letter is in the word and not in that position, which is two facts, and the second one is the one people forget. Putting the same letter back in the same square wastes a turn you cannot get back.

If you get stuck

The solver takes whatever tiles you have and lists every word still consistent with them. Using it on the daily puzzle is between you and your conscience — it is the same tool either way, and it is genuinely useful for understanding why a guess eliminated as much or as little as it did.
